Hempnall at home to fellow promotion team Hindringham did not perform as well as the previous week at Brandon, but still managed to gain all three points thanks to the solitary goal from Tom Halliwell midway through the second half.
The goal itself had a bit of quality about it, as the build up passing was excellent.
The game was full of fast football from both sides, but with few real chances, the match looked to be heading for a goal-less draw until Halliwell popped the ball in.
Injuries to Franklin and Solley slightly upset the rhythm, but the team still managed to hold the initiative for most of the game.
The dry pitch at times made good football difficult, and perhaps Hindringham thought they deserved something from the game, but on the day, Hempnall deserved the points to put them top of the league.

Martham 1 Hempnall Reserves 0Hempnall Reserves dropped their first points of the season, losing by the solitary goal at Martham.
The management team advise that this was not their best performance of the season (by a long way), and like the first team, they were short of a number of regular players for various reasons. However, the team battled hard and felt they were unlucky to lose.
Hempnall A 4 South Walsham Reserves 2The newly formed A team, consisting substantially of last year‘s Under 16‘s, played their first game in the league, and certainly excelled in winning the match.
With strong management in David Pointer and David Arnold, ably assisted by Andy Soanes and Bruce Rumsby plus the Oakley boys, the youngsters certainly proved that they can compete in adult football.
The goals were scored by B Rumsby, J Jenner, S Arthurton and J Paston. David Pointer was certinaly very pleased with the team, and added that their efforts at the training sessions of Bob Briggs and Owen Southgate have certainly paid dividends.
Hempnall Reserves 3 CEYMS 1Hempnall Reserves played at home to the highly placed CEYMS, and soon found themselves a goal down, but fought back well to clinch a good victory.
According to reports from the players, this was not their best game, and at times were under a lot of pressure, but held out well.
Goals came from Tom Amis, James Spurgeon and Richard Way. As usual, referee Brian Jeffries did a good job.
Hempnall Veterans 0 Witnesham 4Hempnall Veterans played their first game on Sunday, and were well beaten by a very good side.
Mick Sanders has had to leave his position in charge of the team and new manager Andy Soanes is slowly getting his squad together with a few new signings.
The Club would like to thank Mick for hid great service to the club over the years as player and manager.
