Collison's 'half term report'

Well, 2014 was a very good year for Hempnall first team top of the table and unbeaten in the league; nobody outside the club would have thought we would be in the mix this year how we have proved them wrong.

It was a very busy pre season getting the right personnel to the club starting with the men at the helm. Ricky Knight was the first, introduced as joint manager. Roy Bevis was appointed assistant manager and Andrew Collison as first team coach.

We then needed to get the leader on the pitch. Shaun Wones was the perfect fit - quality, experienced and a cool head. Along with Roy up top we needed a good finisher and that came in the shape of Tom Amis.

We already had quality wide with Danny Knight and Dean Mortimer, and we then added Jonny Large and Sonny Atherton to add competition in these areas, the centre mid area needed to be strong so with Kyle Halsey we added more strength with Stefan Marcuese and Tom Balls.

We then looked at the full backs and we managed to get Sean Brown to give competition to Callum Short for the right back spot and Liam Baker to do the same with Craig Collison for left back and in centre back spots the impressive Charlton Halliday, Martyn Magee and Scott Sutherland-Gray making sure we were well covered.

We started of brightly but needed more strength in depth to compete so we got hold of a striker that scores goals with every club he has played for - Jordan Rocastle, to add to an already prolific front 4 we have the other option of Zak Bevis if we need extra height up top or in defence.

We have also added Ben Atkins, Luke Delany and Davy Watling to this impressive squad and last but not least 2 experienced keepers in Dom Fahy and Antony 'Ninny' Warner.

We at the club would like to thank all the players that have contributed to this great 2014 and hope to take forward to the second half of the season.

Have a great new year all at the club. UTH !!!
