Gordon Jermy

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Gordon Jermy, former Hempnall player of many years during the 1970's and 1980's.
Gordon remained a great friend of the club, and during his many years here, epitomised all that is good about the club and football in general.
Whatever the occasion, whatever the scoreline, Gordon always cheered us (me, particularly) up with a smile or quip, and he was just a great bloke.
Ray has advised me that the last game Gordon played for Hempnall was on Saturday 16th February 1980, Hempnall Reserves v Aslacton at home losing 0-5. Sadly Gordon suffered a suspected broken ankle in that game.
We will miss him. Commiserations go to Gordon's family from all at the Club.
Gordon's funeral will be at Colney Woodland Hall on Thursday, February 27th at 10.30am.
