Presentation Day

A great turnout for the Hempnall FC presentation saw Greg Dimsey arrange a 5 a side tournament, with guest cameo appearance from Adam Nelson, who showed what the club is missing due to his other commitments looking after the hospitality side of our adult teams. After a great deal of fun, the winning team comprised Jamie Etherington, Callum Reynolds, Nick Talbot, Shaun Kelly and Alex Robins.

With the President unable to attend, the former Chairman, DP, otherwise engaged proudly showing off his new grandson, Arlo, (congratulations to Oli and Jess on the birth of their first child, which rightly prevented dad Oli from showing his silky skills on the football field), it was the Secretary who stepped in to thank all those who had a major influence on keeping the club on an even keel during a difficult season.

He reported that whilst results may not have been all the managers would have hoped for, the job they have done is nothing short of remarkable, and the club is in a far stronger position than we could have hoped for when they started the rebuilding process. The camaraderie is tangible, as witnessed by the positivity of everbody who attended.

Kevin Cunningham, first team sponsor, was on hand to present the ‘First Team POY’ to Adam Bellingham, the season’s most consistent performer.

‘Reserves POY’ was presented to the season’s most improved player, Jordan Batterham.

‘Young POY’ went to the excellent goalkeeper, Alex Harvey.

‘Golden Boot’ was secured by Cameron Mulley who regrettably was unable to attend.

The excellent barbeque was prepared and served by club treasurer, Lora Shurmer.

Thanks also to Clare, ably assisted by Esme, who managed a stint behind the bar.

Supporters of the Year were ‘The Hunnies’, who we all look forward to seeing again next season.

To cap it all, the weather was excellent!

Photos will be posted on the Gallery within the next day or two.
