Hempnall F.C. Reserves v F.C. Viking First (Sat)

Report By Trevor Shurmer (Club Secretary)

Saturday, 09th October 2021, 2:30PM, at PLAYING FIELD HEMPNALL

Home Match, Barnes Print Central & South Norfolk League Division 3 - 2021 - 2022

Win, 2 - 0

In an end to end game, Hempnall secured a 2-0 victory over FC Viking in the Cup.

Fielding a strong team without manager Radford being available, it was end to end throughout, and a very entertaining game in which FC Viking will feel aggrieved to lose without scoring themselves.

The teams were generally evenly matched, Hempnall shaded the game with more clear cut chances, but FC Viking could have matched them were it not for the excellence of the Hempnall goalkeeper who pulled off a couple of very good saves, including one from a self-inflicted penalty.

That said, Hempnall had the greater number of chances, but didn’t take them.

There were a number of good, hardworking and skillful performances today from front to back, and it is difficult to pck out a MOM, but for his excellent saves, I think my MOM is Macauley Ryan in goal.

The referee today, Daniel Ditcham, was first class, despite having a reasonably easy game to referee, he let the game flow as much as possible. He is welcome back at Hempnall anytime.
