Hempnall First Team v Hemsby

Jason Trett (Chairman)
Report By Jason Trett (Chairman)

Saturday, 25th November 2017, 2PM, at Waters Lane, Hemsby, Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk NR29 4NH

Away Match, Anglian Combination Division 3 - 2017 - 2018

Hempnall v Hemsby,

Win, 3 - 0

This Saturday we travelled to Hemsby, and after the heavy defeat last week, managers Trett and Bunn were looking and hoping for a better performance and result this week.

Without Taylor Davies, Bunno had to go between the sticks , and with Tom Radford and Tom Griffiths also missing, Hempnall were again without a full squad.

The game started fairly evenly, and neither side looked like scoring for the first 20 minutes, then Bunno made a superb point blank save to keep the score 0-0.

This seemed to kick Hempnall into gear, Ben Jermaine put some good balls into the box but we failed to convert the chances until Billy Kelly picked the ball up down the left flank cut inside and unleashed a thunderbolt into the top corner from 20 yards.

The back four were coping with everything, looking solid, Benno and Beefy were winning everything in the middle and James Melton, on his debut, was looking dangerous when linking up with the lone striker, Adam Clarke.

Half time 0-1.

The second half started how we finished the first, with Hempnall dominating the game and creating chances.

On 65 minutes, Ben Jermaine’s shot was only parried by the keeper and that man Billy Kelly was on hand to tuck in the rebound – 0-2.

5 minutes later and Kelly made it 0-3 with a header from a corner, but this time it wasn’t Billy, it was Shaun who appeared to be loving his new roll as full back.

Final score 0-3.

Great result lads
