Anglian Combination D3 » Reserves v Cromer Town Res » Away Win » 5-2 | League Table
Hempnall arrived at Cromer looking to put last weeks disapointing result behind them.
Changes were made to the starting eleven with Ross Potter, Marc Garrod and Gareth Motteram returning the starting X1 at the expense of the unavailable Jack Tarrant and A. Maxim and the injured I. Garrod.
Hempnall began brightly but fell behind as S. Cameron broke through to slot past the onrushing Motteram, Hempnall responded well with Lee Barrett a constant menace down the left flank.
Hempnall equalised when a set piece was only half cleared. Andy Clitheroe got to the byline and cut the ball back for Barrett who smashed the ball into the top corner.
Hempnall continued to push forward through Clitheroe and Barrett and when the GK spilled a long range effort Kingo slotted home to make it 2-1.
Hempnall then lost the services of captain Dom Jones who was replaced by Matt Cawston. The game was quite end to end for the rest of the half and minutes before half time a Cromer cross was headed home by S. Cameron for his 2nd of the game.
HT : 2-2
Hempnall started the 2nd half with the bit between their teeth with Cawsto and Garrod doing well in centre midfield and Gav Whiting holding the ball up fantastically up front. It was no surprise when King ran on to a through ball rounded the GK and slotted home for 3-2.
Manager Potter was then replaced by the lively R. Leather with L. Barrett moving central and M. Garrod back to centre back.
Hempnall continued to push forward and created many more chances two of which were taken by King. His hat trick arrived when a low cross came into the box and he tried a spectacular flick which didn't come off, luckily the ball fell to his feet for him to prod home.
King's fourth goal of the game was his best yet as the ball came through to him unmarked at the far post and he smashed a volley past the goalkeeper.
FT : 5-2
A well deserved win and kept up the 100 per cent away record. The team were much more clinical in front of goal, bring on Loddon Res next week.
