Hempnall travelled to Foulsham expecting their toughest game of the season to date and were not wrong.

Changes were made to the starting line up with Ben Player, returning from injury replacing Matt Barrett, Richard Leather returning from first team duty replacing the injured Lee Barrett and Sam Page returning from Norfolk duty to replace the injured Kingo. Kelvin Willimott and Dan Cook were named amongst the substitutes.

Hempnall kicked off but struggled to get into their stride in the windy, rainy conditions.

Hempnall looked dangerous on the break through Page and Ben Player, winning a lot of ball in the middle but Hempnall weren’t passing the ball. Foulsham created numerous chances with long balls over the top to Darby, Knowles and Prior and it came as no surprise when Darby stole in to loft the ball over the stranded Motteram for 1-0. Hempnall then managed to get hold of the ball but were being hit on the break with the pace of the front 3 and Motteram saved well from Darby when the striker was one on one.

HT : 0-1

Hempnall came in at half time knowing they must up their game in the 2nd half. Changes were made with Willimott replacing Leather.

Hempnall started the 2nd half much brighter and went close through Willimott and Clitheroe. Hempnall equalised when after a couple of failed efforts at goal Ben Player slammed the ball home. This gave Hempnall the lift they needed and they continued to press with Clitheroe and Willimott looking dangerous every time they got the ball, Ben Player and Dom Jones winning the midfield battle and Marc Garrod winning everything at the back. Hempnall took the lead when Gaviano Whittiano poked home his 3rd in 2 games. Hempnall then replaced Ross Jones with Dan Cook.

Now behind Foulsham attacked at every opportunity with Hempnall putting their bodies on the line and Gareth Motteram outstanding in the Hempnall goal. Foulsham missed a couple of great chances before Hempnall broke away and Sam Page helped the ball home via a deflection.

Foulsham continued to attack and still looked like they may score which they did after a defensive error in the dying minutes. Hempnall hung on though to record a great win against a good Foulsham side.

FT : 3-2
