Anglian Combination D3 » Reserves v North Walsham Town Res » Home Win » 2-1 | League Table
Hempnall welcomed North Walsham Reserves to Bungay Road expecting a tougher match than they had away a few weeks before.
There was only one change to the starting line up with Ross Jones returning in place of Greg Devlin who was with the first team. There were changes amongst the subs with Kempy promoted back up, Kingo returning from sickness and Scott Bidewell signing after impressing at training.
Hempnall started brightly but fell behind when a speculative drive was deflected past the helpless Gareth Motteram. Hempnall didn’t allow this to knock them out of their stride and equalised as a cross was deflected into the path of Dominic Jones to tuck the ball home.
Hempnall continued to press forward and took the lead after Lee Barrett headed a Andy Clitheroe cross past the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.
HT : 2-1
The second half was a pretty drab affair, Dom Jones, Kingo and Lee Barrett all missed chances to extend Hempnall’s lead and this caused a few panicky moments in the last few minutes with Andy Clitheroe hitting his own post and a North Walsham forward blazing over with only Gareth Motteram to beat.
FT : 2-1
Not the best performance of the season but a vital three points for Hempnall.
A big thanks to Ray for a well prepared pitch and to Oz and BP for sorting the training tops.
Also, a big thank you to Holden Motor’s for sponsoring both the kit and the jackets.
