Comment on this article

Hempnall welcomed Wortwell to Bungay Road looking to continue their good recent form and to avenge the controversial 2-1 defeat in the previous fixture.

Hempnall were able to call on the services of Shaun Flint due to him missing Wednesdays first team match plus Mark Moseley, Dave Hyett replaced the missing Lee Barrett, Jordan Mace and Andy Clitheroe.

Hempnall started strongly and took the lead when Potter headed down for Flint to finish from close range. Hempnall were looking in control but after conceding a corner conceded an equaliser as a Wortwell player got half a yard on Tarrant to head home.

Minutes later Hempnall were behind as a mistake from Barrett allowed a Wortwell striker to finish despite the valiant effort of Beetensen to block the first shot.

Hempnall reacted to falling behind and after Flint beat two defenders and fired in a cross Moseley finished past the goalkeeper.

HT : 2-2

The second half was very tough for both teams on such a hot day.

Wortwell were the better side and played decent football. Hempnall were able to deny them clear cut chances until Beetensen brought down a Wortwell forward in the box. The Wortwell forward stepped up and struck the ball well only for Beetensen to dive to his left to pull off a great save.

In the final few minutes Hempnall went close with Moseley stinging the goalkeepers hands with a fierce shot and Kristian Jones hitting the cross bar with a great long range strike.

All in all I think Hempnall were happy to take a point out of a game where Wortwell were the better side.

Hempnall will be looking forward to one of the top scorers returning for Mondays game.
