1 point gained or 2 points lost, I still can’t make my mind up!!!

Having gained a 2 goal 10 minutes into the 2nd half through a coolly slotted Tim Downs penalty & a Carl Harwin header, you would think 2 definitely lost & I would be spitting nails.

But this doesn’t tell the whole story as lady luck seems to have well & truly deserted us at the moment.

It started on Friday night when we lost Neil Renaut (bad reaction to inoculations) and then Tom Halliwell (illness in the family) on route!

This called for emergency action, some might say drastic, possibly Kamikaze!! Marty Fuller & yours truly joined Andy Clitheroe on a strong looking bench, good job it was!!

Then, minutes in Bp started suffering from the ‘Sh—s & lost his mobility, except for toilet dashes!!! Only to be followed by Ben Nichols needing to hospital after being floored by Cuddy!! So on goes hard man Andy ‘killer’ Clitheroe (read on!!).

The end of the bad luck you would think but after being asked to remove his cycling shorts as they were the wrong colour (if anyone has Burgundy shorts for sale please let us know!!), Paul Franklin pulled his hamstring which the shorts were there to support.

Will some one please tell me the sense in this rule!!

So on went Mr Fuller with 30 odd minutes remaining, it was a tough decision but unfortunately (or fortunately) I had left my shirt in the dressing room!!!

In between all of this happening Beccles had pulled back 2 goals & the game had become some what farcical. Can’t say any more or will be in trouble.

So this leads me on to the last (at time of writing!!) piece of bad luck as the ‘beast of Hempnall’ no not Frankie, the new beast, Andy Clitheroe is dispatched from the field of play.

His offence, trying to hook the ball back for a quick throw in and in doing so catching a Beccles player’s leg. It was deemed a deliberate kick at an opponent.

If Andy has that sort of aggression in him, he has been hiding it very well!!

So all in all, I am still not sure whether it was a good day or not, or whether to laugh or cry!!! You form your own opinion.

Tim Downs secured the man of the match award for another steady performance.

Thanks to Mick Broxup & his guys, I enjoyed the good humoured conversation & banter between the benches.

Finally, I would like to thanks Matt Cawston for the spraying of the pitch this week, thanks Matt much appreciated.
